PETE'S PICks
Thanks for visiting Pete's PICks. I am Pete Rubba from State College, PA. On this site I will share some of my favorite photos from events and travels over the last 50+ years, along with related information and stories. While I have no formal training in photography, from an early age I enjoyed taking photos, sharing them and attempting to learn from both processes. For example, as an adolescent I took B&W photos with a Kodak camera of model war planes I built and hung from tree branches using fishing line to simulate dogfights.
My wife and children tell me I always seem to have a camera in my hand. I prefer smaller cameras that are unobtrusive and easy to handle. My Sony A6000, which is full-frame and 24 mp, fits the criteria very well. The camera in my iPhone has been my backup, though the two cannot be compared. In 2019 I purchased a used Canon SX730 (40x and 20 mp) to gain long zoom capability the few times I need it, for an investment that was significantly less than even a used long lens from Sony.
This is my third photo blog, the first was a decade ago on a now defunct site. The second was on Facebook, but
I was not pleased with the platform and results.
I hope you find the photos and background information shared here of interest. If you do, please check
back and share the URL with others. I will add blog entries as I identify ones that I believe will be of
interest to others.
Thanks again,
Pete
