The first People’s Choice Festival was held in 1993, started as an alternative arts and crafts festival to the well-established Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts held annually in mid-July. The People’s Choice is held concurrently on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Military Museum in Boalsburg, PA. According to the festival web site, it now attracts over 110,000 visitors, 200 artists, 40 stage acts, and a dozen food vendors. Pictured here along with shots of the festival (taken just a folks started to arrive for the day) are three amigos – Sue, Michelle and Jane - on their annual trek around the festival with ice coffees in hand. All three are teachers (two retired). In fact, Michelle was Jane’s high school Spanish teacher and led for many years a student exchanges between State College and Vila-Real, Spain in which Jane participated.
