Wednesday Reprint 2/1/23

Continuing with the Wednesday Reprint theme...

Ficus trees are famous in Hawaii for their unusual large and in some cases weird looking roots, even though some varieties are essentially large brushes and not tree like (see next photo).

This ficus tree was located at the Nuuanu Pali Lookout on the north side of Diamond Head. The root blade had a 2 x 4 foot face, while the top was only about 25 ft high. The free range chickens that roosted in and around the tree are common across the islands.
