It is always fun to stop at Tractor Supply in the early spring to look at the recently hatched peeps. To my surprise, when I entered our local Tractor Supply this morning to buy a 40 lb bag of black oil sunflower seeds for our bird feeder, I caught the chirping sound of peeps. There they were, less than a dozen, huddled in two groups under the heat lamp in an enclosure, chirping away. (Peep photos taken with an iPhone 6.)
The last two photos are of birds enjoying our sunflower seeds - a group of four finch (from L to R: male and female goldfinch, and male and female house finch), and an elusive male cardinal who typically stays on our feeder only long enough to grab a few seeds.
