The Thistlethwaite Falls in Richmond, Indiana is easily missed given it is literally just off the side of a bridge on Waterfall Road. The falls is on the West Fork of the East Fork of the White River. The bridge’s guardrail can be seen in the photo just above the center of the 20 ft high cascade. On the other side of the bridge, the river flows through Springwood Park, where it ponds as a lake just prior to going under the bridge and over the falls.
The Cardinal Greenway also runs through the west side of the park. It is the longest rail trail in the state, running 62 miles from just northwest of Marion, southeastward through Muncie, and ending in downtown Richmond.
