A Fall Ride

Three Old Guys with Beards (Bill, Chuck and me) have only been able to ride rail-trails a few times across the spring, summer and fall because the weather has been so wet. So when the forecast on Friday was for clouds this morning breaking into partly sunny by mid-afternoon, we hit Pine Creek Rail-Trail with a new member of the riding group, Carl (who we need to talk to about being clean shaven). It rained again Thursday night until about 4:00AM Friday, so Pine Creek was 3-4 ft above its usual level. There were signs all long the 26 miles we rode that the creek level recently had been as much as 12 feet above normal, and the hard-packed limestone trail surface showed signs of being beaten by hard rains. Still, it was exciting to see a byproduct of the rainy weather; as seen in the following example photos (taken with an iPhone 6) the falls and run were full.
