Fun Dinner

Janset, the daughter of Gulya who is a Humphrey Fellow for whom Sue and I are community hosts this year, joined our family for dinner out this evening at a local microbrewery. Gulya was out of town attending a professional conference. Janset enjoyed watching pizzas being made (including the personal pizza she had for dinner), cheering for the Penn State men's basketball team on the big screen, and a root beer float for desert.

It is amazing how quickly children are "inculturated" by school, peer-to-peer interactions, and social media. Gulya and Janset return home to Uzbekistan in June. Kinley, a Humphrey Fellow from Bhutan (see my 5/31/18 and 5/12/18 Blog Entries), last year predicted that going home would be a be a big adjustment for his two children after spending only the spring semester in State College.

The photos were snapped with an iPhone 6.
