Canadian Rockies

These are a few views from along the Trans-Canadian Highway in the Banff Area on a day in June 2001 that started out foggy. They are scans of photos taken with a Canon AE-1, so details have been lost. Still, they provide a sense that the Canadian Rockies are spectacular.

Weather conditions were variable; the sun shown in one location, while a few miles further along the highway there was localized fog.

This bull caribou was grazing within a few yards of the highway’s edge undisturbed by the traffic and photographers, enjoying grass probably laced with road salt.
