New Look and Purpose

This isn’t the science classroom you probably remember. The photos are of the newly remodeled science education rooms in the College of Education at Penn State (taken on a Saturday morning when a teacher workshop was in session). The focal point in the rooms are no longer the science demonstration table with a black soap stone top, sink and gas jet in the front of the room. Rather, it is on technology enable collaborative working groups of students. Note the four computer (e.g., laptop, tablet) projectors and screens - one for each students group and the instructor. The oak cabinets are still there, just laterally placed in the room, and the old science storage room is space-saving/movable shelving. (The photos were taken through glass, so there is evidence of glare.)
