Cardinals

There is a pair of Northern Cardinals in our back yard again this year. They most probably were attracted by the dense shrubby on the property lines, where they like to nest, and our feeder and bird bath. Cardinals, especially the males, are beautiful birds and will be fun to watch. So far the female has been much more visible than the male, spending extended periods across the day in the grass looking for food (e.g., insects) and on the bird feeder. The male is unseen, except during early mornings and evenings when he swoops in from the bushes for a few quick trips to the bird feeder for black oil sunflower seeds.
