Bird Frenzy

The 5/3/19 Blog Entry is about a pair of Northern Cardinal who took up residence in our back yard. Apparently, their eggs have hatched.

During the last week our backyard feeder has been inundated by a variety of birds, particularly juvenile female Northern Cardinals, but also House Finch, Goldfinch, Blue Jays, and the occasional pair of Mourning Doves, Crows, and Downy Woodpecker.

The feeder has been so busy at times, the resident male cardinal has had to wait his turn and the mother cardinal relegated to picking up black oil sunflower seeds that fell to the ground when the feeder tilted.

Meanwhile, chip monks and squirrels have kept an eye out for a chance to dine.
