Grand Canyons

The Grand Canyon in northern Arizona is a well known landmark, national park and vacation destination. But, it is not the only grand canyon in the US. According to Google, there are as many as 16 magnificent (or grand) canyons in the US.

While much smaller - only 14 miles long, one mile wide and 3,600 ft deep - the Waimea Canyon on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai is known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.

The Yellow Stone River Gorge below the South Yellow Stone Falls, also is referred to was a grand canyon.

Though not necessarily "grand," the northern most 47 miles of the Pine Creek Gorge south of Wellsboro is known as the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.
