Sixty Years Ago

In 1959 what was it that boys wanted for Christmas? Many, including my two brother and me, wanted a Schwinn bicycle. Well, Santa came through for us. Three Panther II bikes, one black, one red and one green, were there on Christmas morning. In fact, I helped our dad put the three bikes together on Christmas Eve after my brothers were asleep.

I kept my black Schwinn Panther (out of the weather) until three years ago when I sold it to a local bike shop employee who wanted it for a restoration project.
