Desert Arboretum
The phrase "desert arboretum" sounds like an oxymoron, but it is not. Case in point is the Desert Arboretum on the east side of Phoenix. Yes, there are the typical cacti of all shapes and sizes:

But there also are the unusual, unique and seldom seen desert plants (as well as animals running from under one to another if you watch carefully and are fast with your camera - I was not fast enough):
