Advanced Planning Recommended

Photos of tourist standing outside the Roman Colosseum, such as the one above, are relatively easy to get. On the other hand, getting inside the Colosseum to look around and take photos requires some advance planning - the number of visitor allowed inside appears to be limited in order to protect the ruins.

A ticket is required (advanced online purchase recommended) to gain entry and that ticket is for a particular date and time. Show up early - you wait until the entry time noted on the ticket. Show up late - not a good idea!
