Moonscape 2

An earlier blog entry (2/9/18) included a photo of what looked like a moonscape taken from inside the crater rear the summit of Mauna Loa volcano in Haleakala National Park, Hawaii. This is a companion photo that better shows the scale. Those are people on horseback on the trail that extends from the lower right toward the middle left. Also, a two lane road curves across the upper right - access to international astronomical observatories on the summit, one seen in the very upper right, and others the photo below.
