Almost a Perfect Day

Sue and I recently took advantage of some moderate summer weather to get out of the house. We rode Pine Creek Rail-Trail from Slate Run to the three-span iron bridge north of Cedar Run, and back. Maintaining social distance was not an issue on the trail, or at lunch - take-out ordered and delivered through a window at Manor Inn in Slate Run.

It was a great day to ride - mostly sunny with temperatures in the high 70s. Plus, the humming birds were very active outside the west side windows at the Cedar Run Inn.

We also were among a hand-full of riders who followed a doe and her fawn as they walked south 1/4 mile in Pine Creek. The doe and fawn entered the creek at the wood bridge over Jacob's Run (south of Cedar Run) after crossing the trail just in front of Sue.

The only glitch - Sue lost control of her bike on a steep downhill when exiting the trail at Slate Run. A PA at Geisinger Urgent Care put 4 stitches in her elbow.
