"All Good Things..." 3 5/7/22

This is a continuation of my 4/30/22 and 5/4/22 Blog Posts. The above group photo of this year's Humphrey Fellows and the program staff (pulled from the program's web site) was taken at the Penn State Lion Shrine early in the fall semester. Professional bios for the 2021-22 Humphrey Fellows can be found at the following URL:

Each fellow has developed plans for a Capstone Project in their area of interest to be implements after returning home.

Philipina brings an engineer's systematic perspective to her work in establishing an innovation park (possibly similar to the one at Penn State) and related educational programs at her university in the Philippines. Her capstone project will focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability across the institution.

Joelma works in English as a Foreign Language teacher education - the preservice and inservice education of teachers of English in Angola where the native language is not English. She will continue this focus in her capstone project.

Sasiporn's capstone project also focuses on improving English instruction. Her husband and son were able to join her from Thailand.

Madina seeks to establish a network with American counterparts to bring innovative ideas to STEM education in Tajikistan.

Marcha is assistant commissioner of the Suriname Police Corps. Her goal is to modernize police training. Over the Penn State Holiday Break, Marcha and Nagwa traveled together to Oregon, San Francisco, LA and NYC (as noted in three early 2022 Blog Posts).

Unbeknown to me, Nagwa took this photo of the photographer using his trusty SONY A6000 at the banquet.
