Ambushed by Chickens? 10/7/21

At the 6 mile point on Lower Rail-Trail there is an adjacent farm house where free range chickens frequently wonder onto the trail. On a late September ride, Bill and I found 8 chickens on the trail - four in a row on a fence that runs along the trail and four others on the ground below.

When we stopped so I could photograph the four chickens on the fence, the other four surrounded Bill. It was as if the chickens had planned an ambush - four of the chickens enticed us to stop by perching on the fence while the others surrounded Bill hoping he had food.
