Looking for another COVID GOOTH (Get Out Of The House) on a cold but sunny February Sunday afternoon, we returned to Lake Perez at Penn State's Stone Valley Recreational Area, anticipating a quiet hike around the lake. To our surprise the parking lot was almost full, the trail around the lake was closed and there were people spread out over the lake – walking, skating, cross-county skiing, and ice fishing – as per our visit to Black Moshannon Lake six weeks earlier (see 1/30/21 Blog Entry).

After a short walk along the shoreline, we ventured out onto the ice.

One fisherman waved as we headed for the car.

The lake is fed by Shaver's Creek.

My 9/10/20 and 9/25/20 Blog Entries show photos of the lake when it is not covered with 8 inch thick ice.
