Bike-Trail for Horses 10/27/21

Lower Rail-Trail is not only a bike and hiking trail, but horses also are welcome as long as they stick to the grass aprons on each sides of the central crushed limestone path. Still, while riders and hikers may periodically see horse tracks in the grass areas, it is not common to actual see horses and riders. That wasn't the cased on the October day I took a solo ride on Lower, from the point I arrived at the Alfrata Access. There were trucks with horse trailers in the parking lot, horses and riders posing for photos, and a parade moving along the first 5 miles of the trail and back over a three hour mid-day time frame.
