Black Water Falls (12/14/20)

If you are traveling on US 219 near Davis WV, Black Water Falls, in the state park by the same name, is very much worth a look. The 62 ft falls on the Black River flows over sandstone from the Pennsylvania Geological Age - about 300 million years old. The flow varies with the level of the river, but it is always exciting to see the falls and listen to the roar of the falling water. These photos are scans of 35 mm prints taken from a 1995 visit from an observation deck near the base and from a point at a distance.
