Colorful Fall? 10/12/21

Fall colors are predicted to peek in central PA during the last week in October, about two weeks later than usual. However, there are questions as to whether it will materialize. Extremely wet summer and fall weather may be the complicating factor. The leaves on most trees are still green, but those leaves that are changing are moving quickly to brown and falling to the ground.

While we wait to see if color materialize, to what degree, and how long the color lasts, I nostalgically take a look back in this post at landscapes from an early September trip to Denali National Park in 2019 and the brilliant and contrasting hues - yellow Aspen Trees, green conifers, burgundy in the low growing plants (e.g., cranberry, blueberry, crowberry), and purples, oranges, browns and grays of mineral deposits.
