Sue comes from a large but very close family, as exemplified by the above photo from a turn of the 20th century reunion likely held in Nashville, OH, and the following photo from a 2019 reunion of the descendants of Sue's mother and father held on the family farm. Ninety percent of the folks in the photos live within 15 miles of Ashland, with a few in the Columbus area. We are the "out-of-staters".

A dozen of Sue's siblings, their spouses and a few of their children eagerly gather when she visits, on this trip for an impromptu pizza and salad supper - with home-made pecan pie and cheese cake, of course - around a crowded kitchen table.

A visits always includes time with a sister confined to a care home.

Such trips frequently include a visit to the old homestead (still in the family), the nearby one-room school at which Sue's grandfather taught until it was closed in 1938 (now part of a small lumber mill), and the old Alma Matter.
