Robins Galore 3/13/22

We often see a Robin on our feeder across the spring, summer and fall. In our 35 years in State College we have never seen a Robin this time of the year. So, we were very surprised today to see a couple of dozen Robins in the back yard. They were not eating sunflower seeds at the feeder, but picking the remaining fruit off two crab apple trees and the fruit knocked to the ground by the birds on the trees.

These photos were taken through the kitchen window of the crab apple tree closest to the house. It was a overcast day. Still, the Robins' orange breasts can be pick out among the burgundy and brown of the tree.
