This is one of the spectacular white peacocks that roam the giardino dell'isola Bella (garden on the beautiful island) on Lake Maggiore off the shore of the town of Baveno, Italy. The gardens are part of a grand house that dates back to the early 1600s. Today, the house and gardens are a popular tourist attraction.* Lake Maggiore is NW of Milan and extends across the Swiss border.
